If you haven't tried a teatox, where have you been!? I had been looking around for detoxes that didn't include spending a fortune on those not-so-fun tasting juices from Whole Foods. I came across something called a "teatox". Which is, well, a tea detox. I started off with a 28 day detox box, and let me tell you, this box is magical. You drink it three times a day, thirty minutes before each meal. At first, the taste was interesting, but after about the second day, I was hooked on it! I felt so much more energized and awake throughout the day, and it cleared my skin like no other. Also, whether or not you exercise while on your teatox, you still see amazing results in your weight. Crazy right?! Although I don't suggest it, you could eat McDonald's everyday and you would still see results. For the best results though, you should maintain a relatively healthy diet and do even the slightest exercise. There are loads of different teatoxes you could try, but my absolute favorite is this one from Your Tea, and it's called TinyTea. They sell them in 14 Day and 28 Day detoxes. For some people, the 28 day detox is pricy (it comes out to be $65 with shipping), but it is beyond worth it!
If you've never had a Cali bagel, are you even a Californian? But really, are you? Not to be the typical Californian, but avocados are heaven sent! The other morning I was up in San Francisco and I was in dying need of breakfast, so I stopped at a bagel shop to get this beauty. I call it a 'Cali'. It's a toasted bagel with cream cheese, tomato, and of course, avocado. These are my favorite things ever! I always make mine at home since my local bagel shop doesn't make them (still wondering why...). If someone told me I could only eat Cali's for the rest of my life, I don't think I'd have a problem with it.
I realized how fortunate I am to live basically in the midway point between Santa Cruz and San Francisco, because it makes it so easy to go to either whenever I want to. A couple week ago my friends and I decided to take a trip over the hill to Santa Cruz. We didn't get to stay as long as I would've liked, but it's so great to just be away from home. And the scenery in Santa Cruz is beyond amazing, these pictures definitely did not do it justice. Being able to clear your mind with a view like this is the best.
I’ve learned to enjoy even the simplest things in life. Being in traffic while driving down Market Street for an hour in San Francisco and looking ahead to see how gently the fog rests above the buildings. Or smiling at the driver in the car next to you just because you can. A simple smile towards a stranger can make their day better. Always be positive.
